4 Terminals will Be Revitalized This Year

The city administration plans to revitalize four terminals this year in an effort to improve the public service in the capital. Those are Rawamangun, Kelender, Ranti, and Muara Angke. The revitalization itself is still under auction process in the Goods and Service Procurement Unit (ULP).

"The four terminals will be revitalized like as the Manggarai and Kota Terminals," Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, Muhammad Akbar, Monday (8/18).

During revitalization period, Akbar stated, all activities at the terminal will be moved temporarily, precisely in out of the terminal. Yet if it interferes the traffic, it will be moved to another location.

Vendors Rampant, Revitalization in Kota Tua Takes Long TIme

 

The fund for revitalization is varied and adjusted to terminal width. For the Rawamangun Terminal, as much as Rp 48 billion has been prepared, Rp 23 billion for Pinangranti Terminal, Rp 8 billion for Muara Angke Terminal, and Rp 248 billion for Kalideres Terminal.

He explained the project would be carried out in single-year plan. The Pinang Terminal has a width of 23,731 square meters, Rawamangun Terminal as wide as 11,958 square meters, Muara Angke Terminal as wide as 1,266 square meters, and Klender Terminal as wide as 3,675 square meters.

Akbar added that in future, all terminals will be built with the same design. "We also plan to make the human and vehicle traffics, where its location separated," he uttered.
